How to Teach the World to a Child (2020)
“How might someone explain the world to a child using only the things found in their home?”
Historical reenactment events often serve the purpose of education. For generations that may be unfamiliar with events that occurred long before their birth, reenactments bring the history to them in a more accessible way. These reproductions of historical events are often achieved through elaborate costumes, props, and set design.
What happens when these resources are no longer accessible?
In the time of COVID-19, we can no longer physically come together to educate the next generation. Any explanations of difficult concepts must take place in the home.
This project is an exploration of the following question: How might someone explain the world to a child using only the things found in their home?
